A professora Alexsandra Fernandes Pereira recebeu os seguintes destaques em 2023.

  • Prêmio Destaque Científico – trabalho apresentado oralmente no XXV Congresso Brasileiro de Reprodução Animal na área de Reprodução de Animais Silvestres, Colégio Brasileiro de Reprodução Animal (CBRA). O trabalho intitulado “Avaliação do método de privação de soro na sincronização do ciclo de fase G0/G1 de fibroblastos de pele de tatu de seis bandas” foi resultado da tese em andamento da aluna Denilsa Pires Fernandes.
  • Prêmio Destaque Científico – trabalho apresentado oralmente no congresso da Associação Brasileira de Veterinários de Animais Silvestres na área de Profissionais, Associação Brasileira de Veterinários de Animais Silvestres. O trabalho intitulado “Otimização de sistema de cultivo in vitro de tecido testicular de queixada (Pecari tajacu)” é resultado da colaboração com o Prof. Dr. Alexandre Rodrigues Silva.
  • Menção Honrosa – Melhor Trabalho apresentado na área de Ciências Agrárias durante o XXIX Seminário de Iniciação Científica da UFERSA, Universidade Federal Rural do Semi-Árido (UFERSA). O trabalho intitulado “Avaliação da privação com soro fetal bovino como protocolo para sincronizar o ciclo G0/G1 de fibroblastos de Dasyprocta leporina Linnaeus, 1758 (Rodentia: Dasyproctidae)” foi um spin-off da tese da pós-graduada Érika Almeida Praxedes dirigida na iniciação científica.
  • 2º Lugar no Concurso de Fotografia – realizado no I Simpósio Potiguar de Zootecnia, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Zootecnia (PPGCA/UFERSA). A fotografia foi resultado do trabalho de tese do aluno Leonardo Vitorino Costa de Aquino.

1º Lugar de Melhor Trabalho em Reprodução Suína – O trabalho foi preferido durante o XXIV Congresso Brasileiro de Reprodução Animal e VIII Simpósio Internacional de Biologia da Reprodução Animal – Encontro Conjunto promovido pelo Colégio Brasileiro de Reprodução Animal (CBRA). O trabalho intitulado “Produção in vitro de embriões híbridos derivados de sêmen de cateto selecionado por diferentes métodos e ovócitos suínos” foi resultado da tese da aluna Maria Valéria de Oliveira Santos.

Prêmio Marcelo Guimarães – Professor Alexandre Rodrigues Silva recebe Prêmio “Marcelo Guimarães” de Melhor Pôster no Congresso da Associação Brasileira de Veterinários de Animais Silvestres – ABRAVAS

1º lugar na área de Ciências da Saúde – XXVII Seminário de Iniciação Científica (SEMIC) – Premiação de com apresentação do trabalho “Histopatologia do carcinoma espinocelular em gato doméstico tratado com Plasma” XXVII Seminário de Iniciação Científica (SEMIC), Universidade Federal Rural do Semiárido (UFERSA) conquistou o 2º lugar na área de Ciências Agrárias com apresentação do trabalho “Avaliação da resposta ao tratamento com plasma atmosférico frio no carcinoma espinocelular felino em estágio avançado”, XXVII Seminário de Iniciação Científica, realizado pela Secretaria Federal Rural Universidade do Semiárido.

Highlight of scientific article in Equine Veterinary Journal – the article “Behavior of postoperative pain associated with surgical castration in donkeys (Equus asinus)” by the Clinical Reviewer as one of the most clinically relevant to appear in the Anticipated section of the international journal Equine Veterinary Journal . As a result, a synopsis of the article will be distributed to equine veterinarians via BEVA’s e-News (British Equine Veterinary Association) and also sent to other organizations, such as the AAEP (American Association of Equine Practioners). In addition, the article was added to EVJ’s virtual Working Equid. This article is the result of the thesis of student Maria Gláucia Carlos de Oliveira, developed under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Valéria Veras de Paula.

Highlight of a scientific article in Microbiology Magazine – The article entitled “composition of semen and foreskin mucosa aerobic microbiota and its impact on sperm parameters of captive collared peccaries (Pecari tajacu)”, from Doctoral thesis by Caio Sérgio Santos, under supervision of Professor Alexandre Rodrigues, in the scope of the Graduate Program in Animal Science at Ufersa. It was selected by the Society for Applied Microbiology to be published in the September issue of the Microbiologist Magazine newsletter being highlighted as one of the most recommended readings among all scientific articles in the area.

Highlight of a chapter published in the international book Theriogenology – The international publisher Intech highlighted the chapter “Estrus cycle monitoring in wild mammals – challenges and perspectives”, published in the book Theriogenology, through a message sent to the author Prof. Dr. Alexandre Rodrigues Silva, as one of the most popular, having already reached the amount of 1000 downloads.

Highlight of a scientific article at Zoo Biology: The work, the result of the dissertation of student Érika Almeida Praxedes, supervised by Prof. Dr. Alexsandra Fernandes Pereira, which was published in the international journal Zoo Biology, was one of the most cited articles in 2019. The work brought an approach on somatic resource conservation strategies and somatic cell nuclear transfer cloning as a conservation of wild felids, such as the jaguar, the largest felid on the American continent and today has a very small population. The importance of this aspect of biodiversity conservation has been so evident that the journal itself issued a certificate of recognition of the work to the authors.

Awards at the UFERSA Scientific Initiation Seminar – Honorable Mention for 3rd place in the field of biological sciences at work Effect of epidermal growth factor on the in vitro maturation of catheter oocytes, guided by Prof. Dr. Alexsandra Fernandes Pereira, at the XXV Scientific Initiation Seminar, Dean of Research and Graduate Studies at the Federal Rural University of the Semi-arid. In addition, Professor Carlos Eduardo Bezerra de Moura, from the Animal Morphophysiology and Biotechnology line, received an Honorable mention for the 2nd place in the field of agricultural sciences. The work entitled “Effect of nitriding of titanium surfaces on endothelial cell communication at the XXV Initiation Seminar Scientific”, Dean of Research and Graduate Studies at the Federal Rural University of the Semi-Arid.

International Innovative Research Award nomination: the event is organized by Research Under Literal Access – RULA Awards, an Indian consortium that promotes awards for what they consider “international leaders”. The commission selected the work entitled “Composition of collared peccary seminal plasma and sperm motility kinetics in semen obtained during dry and rainy periods in a semiarid biome”, published in the international journal Animal Reproduction Science. The work came from Samara Sandy Jerônimo Moreira’s master’s dissertation, conducted under the guidance of professor Alexandre Rodrigues Silva, with PPGCA / UFERSA.

Consultancy for BBC International series: In 2019, Professor Alexandre Rodrigues Silva, was contacted by the production company Silverback Films, based in Bristol, in the United Kingdom. They are preparing a new documentary for BBC International, which will show peculiar mating. Thus, producers had access to our scientific article “Reproduction in Agouti: a Review”, published in the international journal Animal Reproduction, from the Brazilian College of Animal Reproduction, and contacted us to provide them with scientific advice on this topic. Thus, we formed a multidisciplinary team in collaboration with Prof. Frederico Ozanan Barros Monteiro of the Federal Rural University of the Amazon, to enable the acquisition of agoutis mating images. The importance of this situation is emphasized, since it makes clear the international visibility of the work carried out in the scope of the reproduction of wild animals by the team of the UFERSA Animal Germplasm Conservation Laboratory.

Brazilian College of Animal Reproduction Award. In May 2019, during the XXIII Brazilian Congress of Animal Reproduction, which took place in Gramado/RS, the team from the Animal Germplasm Conservation Laboratory, coordinated by Prof. Dr. Alexandre Rodrigues Silva, was awarded the prize for Best Work in Reproduction of Wild Animals, from the presentation of the work of doctoral student Erica Camila Gurgel Praxedes.

Launch of the book “Reproduction of Dogs”. Without a doubt, the greatest visibility action conducted by Prof. Alexandre Rodrigues in 2019 was the launch of his book “Reproduction of Dogs”, which was written in partnership with Prof. Marcelo Rezende Luz, from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, and published by Editora Manole, one of the largest and most reputable publishers in the area of ​​Veterinary Medicine in Brazil. The book had an initial circulation of 1000 copies, but quickly spread throughout the national territory, surpassing the mark of 50% of copies sold. This success is due to the fact that its approach is mainly directed to dog breeders and other professionals in the field of cinema, which makes the book unique in the area, increasing its reach beyond academic barriers. From the launch, Prof. Alexandre was invited to give publicity lectures related to the book at different events throughout the national territory, which fostered the growth of his communication channels through social networks, such as Facebook and Instagram, which became a direct channel for that dog breeders ask questions directly with the teacher, regarding the reproductive management of their dogs.

Award at PEC NORDESTE 2019 – Professor Jael Batista Soares, from the Animal Health line received 1st place in the sample of scientific papers – Potential hepatoprotective of the bee geopropolis Partamona cupira, Northeast Livestock Seminar PEC NORDESTE and honorable mention at the Northeast Livestock Seminar by 3rd place in the sample of scientific papers, PEC NORDESTE.

Highlight in Veterinary Medicine 2018 – homage granted by the Municipality of Fortaleza in reference to the performance of Prof. Dr. Alexandre Rodrigues Silva stands out in the area of ​​veterinary medicine, in particular, for his performance with the national cynophilia and the scientific merits with the research carried out in the area of ​​animal reproduction. His work with the PPGCA generated an interview for Radio 105 FM in Mossoró, on the UFERSA no Ar program, regarding the awards received and the research carried out with the LCGA by the team.

19th Royan International Research Award nomination – Two works published in Zygote and Reprod Fertil Develop, authored by Prof. Dr. Alexandre Rodrigues Silva were nominated to compete for the international award from the Royan Institute, Tehran, Iran.Award at the International Symposium on Animal Biology of Reproduction. The research “Combinations of different cryoprotectants for the vitrification of testicular tissues in collared peccaries (Pecari tajacu) – Preliminary results”, from the doctoral thesis of student Andreia Maria da Silva, from the Graduate Program – Graduation in Animal Science, under the guidance of Professor Alexandre Rodrigues Silva, was awarded during the VII International Symposium on Animal Biology of Reproduction, in Aracaju, Sergipe. The survey received the “Top 5 Best Poster Presentation” distinction.

Award at the Scientific Initiation Seminar at UFERSA – the work entitled “Different methods of cryopreservation of testicular tissue of peccary (Pecari tajacu)” presented by the student Paula Luíza, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Alexandre Rodrigues Silva, was awarded the Best Work in the Agricultural Sciences area at UFERSA for the XXIV UFERSA Scientific Initiation Seminar. At the same event, the scientific initiation work of student Kewen Santiago da Silva Luz, supervised by Prof. Dr. Michel Hrncir, was considered the Best work in the Biological Sciences area at UFERSA at the XXIV UFERSA Scientific Initiation Seminar.
