Thesis on the digestive tract of sea turtles receives Honorable Mention from CAPES.

The doctoral thesis “Morphology and Anatomopathological Findings of the Digestive Tract of Sea Turtles”, authored by Radan Elvis Matias de Oliveira, under the guidance of professor Moacir Franco de Oliveira, from the Graduate Program in Animal Science (PPGCA/UFERSA) is awarded an Honorable Mention by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), among the best theses defended in the year 2022 in the area of ​​Veterinary Medicine.

The result released on August 11th rewarded the work developed by the graduate and now post-doctoral fellow at PPGCA, Radan Oliveira, which arose as a result of a valuable partnership between UFERSA and researchers from the Cetáceos da Costa Branca Project, linked the State University of Rio Grande do Norte – UERN and coordinated by professor Flávio José de Lima Silva.

YEAR 2016

The PhD thesis “Optimization of Protocols for Cryopreservation of Catetos Semen” authored by Ana Liza Paz Souza and supervised by professor Alexandre Rodrigues Silva of Ufersa was honored this Wednesday, 14, in Brasília. The research received an Honorable Mention in the Capes of Thesis Award 2016 in the area of ​​Veterinary Medicine. The Vice-Rector of Ufersa, Professor José Domingues Fontenelle Neto, represented the Rector of the University in the act. The Capes Veterinary Medicine Coordinator, Angélica Miglino, also participated in the ceremony.

 

This is the first time that a doctoral thesis from the Postgraduate Program in Animal Science has been chosen as one of the best in the country by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel, Capes.

 

Graduated in Veterinary Medicine at Ufersa, Ana Liza is part of the first group of doctoral students in Animal Science at the University and spent 4 years researching the thesis. The defense took place last year. Ana Liza’s research competed with about 60 theses from other universities in the country.

 

The advisor professor, Alexandre Rodrigues, was the first doctoral student in Brazil to be recognized by Capes with the Best Thesis Award in 2006. Ten years after his first achievement, Alexandre is now awarded an advisor again.
